Pasta dies are not made of pure bronze, but of an alloy composed mainly of copper, of zinc and other chemical compounds. This particular alloy allows a very good processing. It has excellent hot deformability performance and complies with the legislation for materials in contact with water, intended for human consumption. It is a long-term tradition that artisans and families use dies in copper-based metal alloys (so-called bronzes). The wording does not mean that bronze is the only material that makes up the die. The consumers associate 'bronze dies' with a traditional process capable of providing a rough pasta, which absorbs and retains the seasonings.

There is no single correct way to clean bronze dies, but we would like to share our recommendations. To simplify cleaning, start immediately after finishing the extrusion process. Rinse the die under running water and avoid using chemical cleaning products. Remember that standard bronze dies should not be washed in a dishwasher. Carefully remove any dough residues remaining inside the die using suitable cleaning tools. Finally, dry the die thoroughly to prevent stains from forming. If you own PVD-coated bronze dies, they are dishwasher-safe. Make sure to remove any remaining residues using our cleaning tools. The dies can then be left to air dry naturally.
